Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool superstar, had been dreaming of a move to Anfield for years before he finally got his wish

According to Micah Richards, a former Fiorentina teammate. Richards has previously spoken about his time playing alongside Salah in Florence during the 2014/15 season. And now, in his Daily Mail column, the pundit has revealed what the Reds’ Egyptian King once told him over coffee.

“It was always Mo Salah’s dream to become a Liverpool legend,” he explained. “I played with him at Fiorentina, and whenever we went out for coffee, he talked about his desire to one day play at Anfield.”

“I knew Liverpool had a superstar on their hands when they signed him in 2017, but even I’ve been astounded by the number of goals he’s scored.”

“He only needs four more to overtake Steven Gerrard (186) and enter the club’s all-time top five.” Don’t count on him doing it before the end of the season.”

Mo, the mind monster
When you’re as focused and determined as Mohamed Salah, you can truly achieve anything.

Of course, talent helps, but there are more talented players out there than Liverpool’s No.11. He is not a flawless footballer. His touch is a little sloppy, he occasionally snatches at chances, and he can be completely marked out of a game at times.

Show us a player with more willpower than Mo. There isn’t one, so you can’t. What the 30-year-old has accomplished in his career is remarkable.

Salah could have crumbled after being rejected by Chelsea as a young player. Many people have done so in similar situations. Instead, Mo vowed to return to the club he turned down in order to join the Blues and show them what they had missed out on.

Klopp Salah

Salah has done all of this and more in the years since. It’s incredible that he’s climbed to sixth on Liverpool’s all-time scoring list in just six seasons. And, as Richards has stated, he is not stopping there.

Mo will not be adding any silverware to his collection at the end of the season, as both team and individual honors will elude him. However, if the Reds can add one or two players with Salah’s drive and commitment to succeed this summer, they and he will be back next season.
