Liverpool has been heavily linked with a January transfer for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo
Liverpool have not yet been approached about a move for Moises Caicedo, according to Brighton chief executive Paul Barber.
In recent months, the Reds have been heavily linked with the Seagulls star. Caicedo impressed for Ecuador during the World Cup in Qatar, and his future is still up in the air.
Multiple reports claim Liverpool are interested in signing Caicedo, but it is unclear whether the Reds will make a move for the player, let alone in the January transfer window. And, according to Barber, Brighton have yet to receive a formal interest in the Liverpool player. Brighton have received no offers for Caicedo, according to Barber, despite Manchester United and Chelsea previously being linked. The Brighton manager then discussed the midfielder’s potential transfer value.
“I’m pleased to say we haven’t had any,” Barber said when asked if Brighton had any offers for Caicedo. “Perhaps they didn’t receive my email because I didn’t see any.”
“I’m not sure £42 million will even include the boots, maybe just the laces,” he added. But, all joking aside, the market ultimately determines the value of each player. Graham’s (Potter’s) comments were both amusing and serious, as Moises was an exceptional player for us…
“He hasn’t stopped growing since he arrived in the Premier League.” He is a young man with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a pleasant personality off the field.” So all of those things add to a footballer’s value if he gets to the point where he’s sold.”
