Liverpool will be able to relax this weekend after their Premier League match against Fulham was postponed
The Reds are behind Tottenham by six points in the race for Champions League football, but with a weekend free from league action, Jurgen Klopp’s men risk falling further behind with their biggest rivals in action.
So, why is Liverpool vs. Fulham being postponed this weekend?
All you need to know is right here.
Why has Liverpool’s game versus Fulham been rescheduled for this weekend?
Liverpool were supposed to play The Cottagers at Anfield on Saturday, March 18.
The game was rescheduled last month after Fulham defeated Leeds in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Instead of playing in the Premier League this weekend, Marco Silva’s side will face Manchester United in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday at 4.30pm.
A new date and time for the rescheduled match have yet to be determined.
The postponed match against Fulham will give Liverpool a game in hand over Tottenham, who are now in fourth and final place in the Champions League.
Manchester City vs. West Ham, as well as Brighton vs. Manchester United, have been postponed this weekend due to City, United, and Brighton’s participation in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
This weekend’s Premier League matchups feature seven teams that have already been eliminated from the FA Cup.
When is Liverpool’s next game?
Liverpool will not play again until Saturday, April 1, when they face Manchester City.
The long wait for their next game is due to the upcoming international break.
Liverpool will have not kicked a ball in 17 days when they face Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16 second leg at the Etihad Stadium early next month.
