Jurgen Klopp is not afraid to put his faith in his squad’s youth, and one teenager has received special praise from the manager ahead of Liverpool’s match against West Ham
In an interview with the media, the 55-year-old said of Conor Bradley, “Everyone speaks positively about him.” Only a few football nerds would have known about him a year and a half ago, but now everyone knows about him. That’s great, and it’s the first step.
“He’s our boy, which I adore. A super mentality, which is extremely beneficial, and all the rest will follow – we are all fairly certain of that. That’s all there is to it.
“Conor will be our player, but given the age group, we’ll have to decide whether it makes more sense for him to go on loan after pre-season or not.” We’ll make that decision later, not now.”
The Northern Irishman is currently playing for Bolton Wanderers and has been a key member of the Trotters’ successful season, with the 19-year-old playing a key role in the Papa Johns Trophy-winning squad.
Whether or not he is ready for the step up to Premier League football, it is fantastic that we have such a talented youngster in our ranks – one who could make some first-team appearances in the coming years.
