Sandro Tonali has completed his medical in Romania and the next thing is for the announcement to be made – probably today or tomorrow.
The player will be on €7M/year wages on Tyneside, which is more than double what he was getting at Milan.

Now that the Tonali trade appears to be almost finalized, Newcastle is reportedly interested in two further players to pursue.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio and other sources, Newcastle wants to sign a double contract with Juventus’ Federico Chiesa and AC Milan‘s Theo Hernandez.
Italian right winger Chiesa, 25, currently plays for Serie A club Juventus and the Italy national team, where he has made 42 appearances and scored 5 goals.
Frenchman Theo Hernandez, 25, plays left back for Serie A club AC Milan and the France national team (17 appearances, 2 goals).
Hernandez is recognized as one of the top left-backs in the world and is known for his quickness, ability to play down the wing, and goal-scoring prowess.
We have a lot of left-back targets, with Scottish international Kieran Tierney of Arsenal serving as the top priority.
Newcastle appears to have done their research carefully once more and has several candidates lined up at each position that needs to be improved this summer.
