The Premier League club is interested in the forward.
According to Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Newcastle United have already spoken to Juventus about Federico Chiesa.
Federico Chiesa has how many goals this season?
Juventus has struggled in Serie A this season and will miss out on Champions League football in 2023/24 owing to point deductions.
The Turin club finished seventh, far lower on the table than one would expect given their domestic dominance in the twenty-first century, and this means that several stars may exit this summer.
Despite more injuries, Chiesa was able to contribute on a consistent basis, appearing on 21 occasions for the team. However, the winger only started six games this season, which was his lowest number ever.
Despite this, the forward was still able to deliver the goods when called upon. He finished with two goals and five assists, which was a greater tally than his performances last season, despite the fact that he started and appeared in more Serie A games for Juventus.
It also meant that the player had a goal contribution rate of 0.74 per 90 minutes, his best ever total discounting a brief stint with Fiorentina prior to joining Juve.
Is Newcastle United interested in Chiesa?
It was recently rumoured that Liverpool were preparing a low-ball £34 million bid for him and were willing to splash the cash, despite the fact that no official offer had yet been submitted. According to a rumor on Sky Sports’ Di Marzio’s website, the player may be poised to try his luck in the Premier League, with yet another club throwing their hat into the ring for him.
That’s because Newcastle appears to have inquired about Chiesa as well. However, no formal bid has been made for the £150,000-a-week star.
After all of his physical problems, it appears that Chiesa is finally regaining the kind of form that catapulted him into the spotlight. Back in June, football journalist Josh Bunting claimed that Chiesa performed like the player “we’ve missed” during a game, noting that he still has “drive” and scored “beautiful” goals.
The player could be back to his best now, and with Juventus possibly willing to sell, Newcastle appear to be ready to capitalize.
