Wright was speaking on Match of the Day following the Reds’ third consecutive league victory.

This season, Liverpool is making a late push to finish in the top four.

It still appears unlikely, but after a difficult campaign, they are finally producing results.

After coming so close to a quadruple last season, Jurgen Klopp’s team has struggled to maintain that level of performance this season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been a player who has come under intense scrutiny this season.

The full-back’s defensive lapses have been repeatedly questioned.

However, he is now used more as a midfielder.

It allows him to play his killer passes more frequently while not having to be dragged as far up the pitch to deliver crosses.

This appears to have helped him be more solid when Liverpool is not in possession of the ball.

Ian Wright was impressed with Alexander-Arnold’s performance for Liverpool last night.

His passing was superb, and he provided another assist, this time to Cody Gakpo.

Wright praised Alexander-Arnold’s most recent Liverpool performance.

The Arsenal legend praised Gakpo and Curtis Jones before praising the England international.

“Trent’s masterclass that he put on today with his passing was absolutely unbelievable, especially in the first half,” Wright said.

“His passes, the way he gets them through those lines, the way he inserts it with purpose.”

“In the right-back position, he was getting back and defending as well.”

With both players arguably not yet at their peak, it’s a combination that could really benefit the Reds in the coming years.

Liverpool fans will be hoping that any momentum they build at the end of this season will carry over into the next season.
