Liverpool transfer rumours: According to reports, Mason Mount is ‘increasingly likely’ to join Liverpool, and rumors suggest that Fabio Carvalho may leave the club
Another day has passed, and more Liverpool transfer rumors have surfaced on the internet.
Jürgen Klopp will most likely have a busy summer as he attempts to rebuild the Liverpool squad for next season. This will involve new players joining the fray as well as some leaving.
When his contract expires in the summer, Roberto Firmino has already been confirmed as one guaranteed departure. Furthermore, he will be joined by James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Naby Keta, whose contracts are set to expire at the end of the season.
And, as Klopp has already stated, Liverpool will need to spend money this summer in order to bring in new players. It is unknown which players will be wearing a Reds jersey by the start of next season, but the club will be working hard behind the scenes to make those deals happen.
There will be no deal for Jude Bellingham after Liverpool dropped out of the race to sign the Borussia Dortmund midfielder. However, the Reds are still being linked with a number of other potential targets.
Here’s Liverpool.com’s take on the latest transfer rumors swirling around the Reds.
Mason Hill (Chelsea)
Mason Mount of Chelsea is one player who has been linked with a move to Liverpool.
According to the latest report from The Guardian, Mount is “increasingly likely” to move to Liverpool this summer. His current Chelsea contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024.
Mount is about to enter the final year of his contract, and it is unclear whether he will sign an extension. According to the report, “money talks” in relation to Liverpool’s rumored interest in Mount, implying that the salary offered to the midfielder by any party interested in signing Mount will be critical.
The Athletic reported in March that Chelsea would demand a fee of around $87 million (£70 million/€79 million).
According to Liverpool.com, Mason Mount is a player who would improve Liverpool’s starting lineup. The big question is whether he truly wants to leave Chelsea. Mount has a great deal of respect for Chelsea, having been a member since he was six years old.
Fábio Carvalho (Leeds)
Fábio Carvalho is one player who has not seen as much game time as many would have expected.
In fact, Football Insider reports that Liverpool is considering loaning Carvalho out when the summer transfer window opens. It has also been claimed that, while the Reds prefer a temporary deal, the club (and presumably Klopp as well) are open to letting the player leave permanently. A deal has been ‘green-lit’.
Carvalho has made just 20 appearances for Merseyside since joining from Fulham last summer. In fact, he hasn’t played in the Premier League since the end of October.
According to Liverpool.com, Fábio Carvalho has received far too little game time for a player of his caliber. For whatever reason, he hasn’t gotten much time on the field this season. It would be a major surprise if Liverpool and Klopp allowed him to leave permanently after only one year and without allowing him to play a full season. However, a loan deal could benefit all parties if the club brings in some midfield reinforcements.
