Aston Villa is reportedly set to assess £17 million World Cup hero as Liverpool’s position is called into doubt.

Following the World Cup final, Aston Villa will contact Emiliano Martinez to discuss his availability against Liverpool. Argentina’s star will face France in the final on Sunday

According to the Daily Mail, new Villans manager Unai Emery is hopeful of having the 30-year-old available. However, Birmingham return to Premier League action only eight days after the World Cup concludes. On December 26, they will play the Reds at Villa Park.
