Liverpool are planning a summer move for Brighton duo Alexis Max Allister and Moises Caicedo

According to the Italian publication Calciomercato. They claim that the Reds are more than interested in bringing both players into their midfield for next season.

Mac Allister appears to be the primary target, but Brighton is expected to demand a minimum of £66 million. This would rule out Juventus as a possible suitor, with the Argentine reportedly set to join a big Premier League club instead.

Keeping this in mind, Manchester City is said to be keeping an eye on Mac Allister. The 24-year-old is said to have ‘bewitched’ Pep Guardiola, who now considers him a top target.

Meanwhile, Caicedo is said to be on Liverpool’s radar as well. The Reds are said to have attempted to sign the Ecuadorian in January and will try again in the summer.

Liverpool faces double trouble on the South Coast.
It appears that both of these players are on Liverpool’s list of midfield targets. But we can say with certainty that they will not get both of them.

That isn’t necessarily due to a lack of desire on the Reds’ part. Mac Allister and Caicedo have the potential to improve Liverpool’s midfield in both the short and long term.

Rather, getting the couple out of Brighton will be extremely expensive.

The Seagulls are reportedly looking for even more money to sell Caicedo after paying £66 million for Mac Allister. Negotiations would most likely be painful, long, and expensive for Liverpool, who is known for driving the hardest bargains.

So, unless Brighton is interested in a package deal, it’s probably best to try to sign just one of their South American stars.

Different people will have different ideas about which one should be chosen. Caicedo is younger, may have a higher ceiling, and has been tracked for a long time. He’s ‘incredible,’ as teammate Adam Webster once said. He appears to be a natural fit. But there’s something about Mac Allister that makes you think he’d be ideal for Liverpool…
