Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund has continued to tease Liverpool fans about a possible summer move to Anfield
The England international has been linked with a move to Merseyside, where he is thought to be the Reds’ top priority.
Despite the fact that Liverpool are in danger of failing to secure Champions League football for next season, talkSPORT understands that the 19-year-old is still interested in joining them.
Although Manchester City and Real Madrid are thought to be ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign the teenager.
However, Liverpool fans remain optimistic that they will be able to outbid their rivals for Bellingham due to his connections with Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Bellingham and Alexander-Arnold went to a Chris Brown concert together last week, and his bromance with Henderson during Three Lions training sent social media into a frenzy.
And Bellingham will have delighted fans once more after posting a photo of himself with Henderson on his Instagram story following England’s 2-0 win over Ukraine in the Euro 2024 qualifier on Sunday.
He then shared a photo of himself embracing Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard on the Wembley pitch, where the Liverpool legend was working for television.
In the midfielder’s post-match interview, Bellingham gushed about him, saying, “The things that Stevie could do in terms of the teams he played in, the way he could carry a team.”
“He could do everything as a midfielder and single-handedly win a game.”
“I’ve said it before, I look up to you and your game, so it’s a pleasure to be standing here right now.”
“Listen, let me tell you right now, you’re a lot further ahead than I was at your age, let me tell you that,” 2005 Champions League winner Gerrard said. You’re definitely heading in the right direction.”
“He’s got a better body than I did when I was 19,” he continued. I probably didn’t have that power and strength until I was 22 or 23, so he’s definitely more physically developed than me.
“In terms of what he’ll try and stuff, he’s more confident than I am.”
“I’m not saying that to be modest; it’s the truth.” I believe he is further along than I was when I was 19.
“Don’t get me wrong, I got where I wanted to go, and he’ll naturally get there if he keeps doing what he’s doing.”
“He’s in a fantastic position, and everything else around him, he just needs to park it and keep playing well, and everything else will take care of itself.”
Gerrard joked earlier this year that he was willing to fly to Germany and take the midfielder “out for dinner” in order to persuade him to join Liverpool.
Bellingham will now return to Dortmund to assist the Bundesliga leaders in winning their first league title since 2012.
It all begins on talkSPORT on Saturday, April 1.
