Liverpool make four changes to their lineup for tonight’s game against Crystal Palace, including the absence of Darwin Nunez

Klopp has altered his squad for the Reds’ trip to Selhurst Park, with two players from the starting Eleven failing to make the replacements’ bench.

Joe Gomez, who suffered a hamstring injury in the 5-2 loss to Real Madrid in midweek, is also missing from the matchday squad.

While Gomez was expected to sit out this game, no information about Nunez was available prior to the distribution of Liverpool’s teamsheet at 6.45 p.m. on Saturday.

But, the Uruguayan is out owing to the repercussions of a shoulder injury sustained in the 2-0 win against Newcastle a week ago.

Nunez was able to shrug off the agony and start against Real Madrid, but was subsequently replaced with 64 minutes remaining, indicating that his ailment was simply being handled.

Now, the No. 27 is unable to play at all, making this the fourth game this season that he has missed due to three separate ailments.

There were also three games missed due to his red card ban for a headbutt on Palace centre-back Joachim Andersen in an August reserve match at Anfield.

Regarding Nunez’s absence, Jürgen Klopp said pre-match: “Darwin had the shoulder injury from the Newcastle game. He played against Real Madrid, but he took another knock there and felt it all over again, so there was no possibility for today.

“Hopefully, he’ll be able to play against the Wolves in midweek.”

His absence at Selhurst Park is surely a disappointment, especially given his wonderful goal in the first half against Real Madrid.

Diogo Jota replaces Nunez in the starting lineup for the third time this season, while Fabio Carvalho is named to the squad for the first time since the 3-0 loss to Wolves on February 4.
