According to rumors, Liverpool is hoping to complete its transfer business early this summer as three players near Anfield deals

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are presently sixth in the Premier League rankings, six points behind fourth-placed Tottenham with a game in hand.

Recent solid performances propelled Liverpool up the table, but they were brought back down to earth last weekend when they fell 1-0 to relegation-threatened Bournemouth.

This season, their midfield and defense have received a lot of criticism, and new indications indicate that is where Klopp will want to improve in the summer.

Due to the signing of Cody Gakpo in the January transfer window, Liverpool are unlikely to make any forward signings in the summer, despite Roberto Firmino’s announcement of his decision to depart.

According to the Spanish newspaper Nacional, Klopp is hoping for a ‘double robbery’ from Real Madrid, with talks for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham and RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol developing.

They say a move for Bellingham, who has long been linked with Liverpool, is ‘in the bag’ after the England international ‘decided to leave Germany next summer’.

Liverpool is also interested in signing him. Gvardiol is a Real Madrid target, and the Reds are said to be ‘one of the favorites’ to sign the Croatian centre-back, with the Premier League club willing to ‘accept another of Florentino Pérez’s desires’.

After knocking Liverpool out of the Champions League 6-2 on aggregate this week, Nacional adds that Real Madrid may be “the one who may suffer a sporting disgrace” in the transfer market.

Another Spanish daily, Fichajes, claims that Liverpool is also “near to finalizing the transfer of” Ryan Gravenberch from Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich.

Gravenberch has failed to make the expected effect after joining Bayern in the summer transfer window in a transaction valued roughly €23 million.

Yet, the 20-year-old has only started three of his 23 games for the German side in all competitions, with the midfielder producing one goal and no assists in that time.

Liverpool have been in’very advanced talks’ to sign Gravenberch, with Fichajes characterizing the transaction as ‘one of its first bombings for next season’.

According to the article, Klopp is “conscious of the necessity to rebuild” his team ahead of the new season, and the Dutch international “will not be the only addition to be seen” at Anfield.
