Scottish Cup Quarter-Final Draw: Home Ties for Celtic & Hearts, Queen’s Park’s Reward, Hibs’ Opponent Revealed

Celtic and Hearts have secured home draws in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup quarter-finals.

Hearts clinched their spot with a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over St Mirren in Paisley. Goalkeeper Craig Gordon starred, saving two penalties before James Penrice netted the decisive kick following a 1-1 draw after extra time. Calem Nieuwenhof, returning from injury, scored Hearts’ equalizer to cancel out Mikael Mandron’s opener.

The draw, conducted after full-time, paired Hearts with Dundee, who cruised past Airdrie 4-0. Hearts head coach Neil Critchley welcomed the home tie, noting it was their first in several seasons. He downplayed their recent 6-0 win over Dundee, emphasizing that form could change before the match.

Defending champions Celtic will host Hibs, a rematch of their 3-1 victory in the Premier Sports Cup last 16 earlier this season. Celtic advanced comfortably with a 5-0 win over Raith Rovers, while Hibs edged past Ayr United 1-0.

Queen’s Park, after their stunning 1-0 upset of Rangers at Ibrox, will travel to Pittodrie to face Aberdeen, who secured their quarter-final spot with a 3-0 win over Dunfermline.

Elsewhere, Championship side Livingston, fresh from a 3-0 win over Cove Rangers, will host Premiership bottom side St Johnstone, who booked their place with a late 1-0 victory over Hamilton.

The quarter-final ties are set for the weekend of March 8-9.
