“Transfer talks heat up as annoyed player considers leaving club after Liverpool reaches out to agent.”

Jeremiah St Juste’s admission that he had received calls from the Premier League, as well as interest from Liverpool, has enraged Sporting Club de Portugal’s management

According to O Jogo, there has been’some displeasure’ among those in charge of the Portuguese club following the defender’s recent comments about Premier League interest.

He revealed to the Dutch website Voetbalzone that he had received calls from a Premier League team after impressing in Sporting’s win over Arsenal last month.

He did not name a Premier League club, but his comments came after a report in Portugal at the end of March revealed that Liverpool had contacted his agent after being impressed by what they saw against the Gunners.

That admission, however, has not gone down well with his current employers, who believe the player has demonstrated ‘ingratitude’ for the trust placed in him.

He has yet to complete a year at the club after arriving as the most expensive signing of last summer, and it appears that the club believes it is unfair to discuss another move at this time.

Indeed, he was signed as a ‘future player,’ implying that Sporting have no intention of selling if someone like Liverpool begins contacting them rather than his agent.

That will be determined by the defender’s status in the coming months, with the Record reporting that he has suffered a’muscle rupture’ in his left thigh.

This diagnosis is expected to be confirmed following the completion of new tests in Portugal.

He suffered the injury in the Europa League defeat to Juventus, and it appeared to be serious at first glance, but according to Record, it is not as serious as first feared.

In fact, it shouldn’t keep the Dutchman out for more than three weeks, but it’s the latest in a string of injuries that have limited his playing time this season.

That is something Liverpool will want to consider, as injuries have already limited their defense this season, and they are unlikely to want to add another player with issues, especially one who is arriving to solve a problem.
