Manchester United are negotiating a’substantial price’ to sign Darren Fletcher’s twin boys from Manchester City.

The two 16-year-old midfielders, Jack and Tyler, are highly regarded as they rise through the Premier League winners’ development systems, but The Athletic reports that a move to Old Trafford is imminent.

The duo played together at City and will again at United, although they were on opposing teams in an Under-16 international competition, with Jack representing England and Tyler representing Scotland.

Darren Fletcher is presently the technical director at Manchester United, but according to the story, he did not push for his kids to join him in the red half of the city; instead, it was a move endorsed by academy head Nick Cox and a decision made by the boys.

Manchester United will be hoping that the teenagers have as good a career as their father, who made over 300 appearances for the Red Devils.

The former Scotland midfielder won five Premier League championships, the Champions League, and the FA Cup with Manchester United before moving on to West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City.
