The Red Devils reinforced their midfield ranks in the summer by signing Christian Eriksen and Casemiro, but they were unable to sign Rabiot
Erik ten Hag was supposedly on board with a deal costing an initial £15 million, but as we all know, the France international did not make the move to Old Trafford.
However, with the midfielder currently preparing for the World Cup Final on Sunday, a move in 2023 appears to be still on the table.
THE MOST RECENT: TRANSFER UPDATE
90min shared a transfer report on Rabiot in the last 48 hours, in which United are once again mentioned.
They reported that United, along with a number of Premier League clubs and Barcelona, had made an offer for Rabiot, with Rabiot’s representatives in constant contact with those interested.
VERDICT: SUITABLE FOR TEN HAG?
Ten Hag currently has two defensive, central, and attacking midfield options, so Rabiot, who can play in two of those positions, could be a wise signing in the short and long term.
He has much of top-level experience in France and Italy and is still only 27 years old, indicating that he still has plenty of gas in the tank. Rabiot, once dubbed a “complete player” by Andrea Pirlo, could be available for the cheap owing to his contract ending at the end of the season, so it’s worth looking into.
