Jordan Henderson has spoken about Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott, describing him as a “really good” player

After a fantastic performance at Anfield, the Reds crushed Manchester United 7-0 yesterday. Jurgen Klopp’s front three of Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo all scored two goals.

Yet Liverpool had some outstanding performances all across the field, and Elliott caught the eye in the middle of the park.

The 19-year-old set up Nunez for his first goal of the game and worked tirelessly in central midfield alongside Henderson and Fabinho.

Henderson spoke about the youngster after the game, and the Liverpool captain believes he has developed significantly this season.

Henderson compliments Elliott following Liverpool’s thrashing of Manchester United.

“He’s a fantastic player. Of course, he had a nasty injury, but with the amount of time and games he’s played, I think that’s behind him now,” Henderson told Stadium Astro.

“He’s just getting better all the time, he’s got fantastic people around him, he’s learning from top players, and he’s gone from strength to strength, and hopefully he’ll keep getting better as a young player.”

Elliott was dropped from the starting lineup last month owing to the outstanding play of Stefan Bajcetic, but he impressed in the victories over Wolves and Manchester United.

Klopp has utilized the gifted midfielder in wide positions this season, but he has thrived while playing in the centre of the park.

He’ll be trying to reclaim his position in the Liverpool team after another brilliant performance at Anfield yesterday.

Liverpool’s league play has improved considerably in recent weeks, and Klopp’s men haven’t lost since the beginning of February.

The Reds will need to keep up their good form if they are to reclaim a place in the top four, and Elliott will be hoping to play a crucial role in that.
