Liverpool are keeping an eye on Bristol City’s Alex Scott, who was recently named the winner of a prestigious award

The Liverpool Echo reports that the Reds are keeping an eye on the midfielder, having previously been linked with the player alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United.

With the 19-year-old having won the Championship’s Young Player of the Season award, the Merseyside club’s interest could grow.

Scott, who has excelled in the middle of the park for the Robins this season, beat Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney and Sunderland’s Amad Diallo to the trophy.

The Guernsey native joins previous winners Jude Bellingham and Gareth Bale on the list, with the Borussia Dortmund superstar taking home the award in 2019/20.

Liverpool will continue to keep an eye on Scott.
Scott, who has excelled in the Championship this season, would undoubtedly be an excellent addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

However, from the player’s point of view, relocating to Merseyside may not be the best option for his football career.

Take, for example, Fabio Carvalho, who arrived at Anfield with enormous potential.

He ripped up the Championship with Fulham, and the Reds were fortunate to land the highly sought-after attacker.

However, the 20-year-old has made only a few appearances for Liverpool in 2023, frequently failing to make the bench.

This could happen to Scott if he decides to make the move.

Although there are more options in midfield, this is still a significant risk.
