According to French media, Liverpool is interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu
According to Le10 Sport, the Reds and Manchester United have both shown a strong interest in the 17-year-old in recent days, not long after he switched agencies to join Jorge Mendes (as reported by RMC Sport).
According to the report, the teenage center-back has yet to make a decision about his immediate future, with the possibility of signing a contract extension beyond his current deal, which has just over a year remaining.
Despite not turning 18 until next week, Bitshiabu has already established himself in PSG‘s star-studded squad, appearing in 16 games for Christophe Galtier’s side (Transfermarkt).
That includes one in the Champions League, where they played the second half of their 2-0 round-of-16 loss to Bayern Munich two months ago.
The 17-year-old has stood out as a ball-playing defender in his 10 Ligue 1 appearances this season, with an impressive pass completion rate of 91.6%, which is higher than anyone who has started a Premier League game for Liverpool in 2022/23 (WhoScored).
Working with Mendes could help him bridge the gap to Anfield, as his Gestifute agency already represents three Reds players – Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, and Fabinho (Transfermarkt).
Bitshiabu is still in his early stages of senior football, but his early performances for PSG have given him a solid foothold. If he can make an impression at one of the most competitive clubs in the world, it will bode well for his future career.
