According to Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are still big fans of Aurelien Tchouameni
The Reds attempted to sign the Frenchman from Monaco last summer, but were unable to do so because Real Madrid swooped in and signed him instead.
Tchouameni has had a difficult time at Real Madrid since then, with many speculating that a summer switch could be on the cards once more.
When asked about this on the Here We Go Podcast, Romano stated that there are no plans to sell Tchouameni at the Bernabeu, but he did mention that Liverpool are still big fans of the player.
Liverpool adores Tchouameni Romano revealed his knowledge of the Real Madrid star.
“Liverpool tried hard to sign Tchouameni and were disappointed with the deal.” Klopp called the player several times, but he joined Real Madrid. I don’t expect Madrid to make many changes in midfield this summer. They have Kroos, who has signed a contract, and Modric will also discuss an extension. Tchouameni, I believe, will stay, and Liverpool will pursue other targets. Liverpool still adores Tchouameni, but they are aware that he is unavailable,” Romano explained.
That would be fantastic.
Tchouameni is exactly what Liverpool requires right now. A smart, athletic player who can make an impact on both ends of the field.
The Frenchman appears to be a perfect fit for a Jurgen Klopp team, but it appears that the Reds will not be able to sign him because Real Madrid intends to keep him.
It remains to be seen whether Los Blancos’ stance changes this summer, but if it does, Liverpool will be near the front of the queue in terms of interested parties, as it appears that they adore Tchouameni as a player.
