The Reds won their sixth game in a row on Saturday, defeating Brentford 1-0 at Anfield. Furthermore, it was Liverpool’s third home win in seven days, following victories over Tottenham and Fulham.

It brings an end to a tense period before Klopp’s men travel to Leicester City on Monday, May 15. And, while Liverpool has plenty of momentum, another midweek match would have left them “completely knackered.”

“Great news, absolutely,” Klopp said at his post-Brentford press conference. If we had played again on Tuesday, we would have been completely exhausted. It’s perfectly fine. You could see that today, there was one team that had a full week and one team that only three days ago played a super-intense game, and before that three days ago played a super-intense game.

“Winning three games in a row at home is incredible.” I truly believe that the people who witnessed the game today in the stadium will not tell their grandchildren about it, but it was a game [where] there was a lot to enjoy because the fight was exceptional.

“The boys’ focus level was exceptional, their concentration was excellent, and there were many positive signs for us in terms of how we could look in the future.” We need to be more consistent, learn, and adapt, but there are a lot of positive signs, and I am very pleased.”
