Trent Alexander-post Arnold’s ridiculing Manchester United following Liverpool’s win has been ‘liked’ by Jude Bellingham
Liverpool fans would have thought it couldn’t be any better than thumping Manchester United 7-0 at Anfield, but Jude Bellingham has just proven them wrong.
The Reds put their top-four aspirations back on track with a stunning win over their main rivals on Sunday afternoon.
While the defeat was United’s biggest in Premier League history, the nature of the performance will be even more satisfying for Liverpool fans, as Jurgen Klopp’s men looked like the team of old.
Such performances have been lacking this season, with Klopp and his players all admitting that they have fallen short of the expectations established in recent years.
Yet, regardless of how the present campaign is going, a result like that is worth celebrating.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, for example, tweeted a photo with the ‘This is Anfield’ sign and a follow-up picture of the scoreboard from the 90th minute, which showed the 7-0 scoreline.
As expected, the message received roughly 700,000 ‘likes’ from ecstatic supporters within the first hour.
But it was a ‘like’ from Dortmund superstar Bellingham that piqued my interest.
The England midfielder is a major target for Liverpool, and failure to finish in the top four might result in the Reds missing out on Bellingham.
But the Englishman was clearly pleased with what he saw at Anfield on Sunday, as he endorsed Alexander-post Arnold’s on Instagram.
The midfielder is set to leave Dortmund this summer, with Manchester City and Real Madrid the most likely suitors.
But, based on his recent activities, the Reds appear to be in the lead.
