Jude Bellingham is set to make a decision on his future soon, with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Real Madrid all waiting to see which club he will join. The Borussia Dortmund starlet is about to make a decision about his future, with several clubs hoping to sign him this summer ahead of a possible move that could break the British transfer record.
According to reports in Germany, the 19-year-old has decided on his future and will meet with Dortmund executives to discuss his options. Bellingham has ‘finally’ decided on his future, according to the German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten.
With strong interest from England and Spain, it is widely expected that the former Birmingham City trainee will end his three-and-a-half-year stint in the Bundesliga.
The German club has already stated that they will not stand in Bellingham’s way if he decides to leave, but with no release clause in his contract, it could take more than £100 million to entice him away from Germany.
Liverpool are thought to be the frontrunners to sign Bellingham this summer, as Jurgen Klopp looks to revamp his midfield. With Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and Thiago Alcantara all considered past their prime, Bellingham is seen as the ideal candidate to lead Liverpool into a new era under Klopp. Mason Mount, a member of England’s international team, has been linked with a move away from rivals Chelsea.
The Reds, on the other hand, face a battle to qualify for the Champions League next season, which could sway Bellingham’s decision, with Manchester City and Real Madrid all but guaranteed places in the competition.
When praising Bellingham’s abilities in December, Klopp said, “With all the things he has and things he can improve, to describe him, I would say the things he can do are difficult to learn, and the things he can improve are easy to learn.”
“So, yes, he is a fantastic player. What else can I say? I’ve been thinking that for two or three years, ever since he made his breakthrough at Dortmund. Everyone knew, but I have no idea what that means in terms of money.”
City and Real Madrid are both interested in the centre midfielder, who was named captain of Dortmund by head coach Edin Terzic, and the former would undoubtedly outspend Liverpool.
The Spanish giants see Bellingham as a long-term replacement for stalwarts Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, though Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga are already in place at the Santiago Bernabeu.
