Darren Bent of TalkSPORT believes Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez is far superior to Manchester United winger Antony

After the Merseyside club’s 7-0 thrashing of the Red Devils yesterday, the former Premier League striker felt Antony hasn’t been as brilliant as Nunez since they both arrived in England last summer.

“Anybody who tells me Antony has had a better season than Darwin Nunez is having a laugh,” Bent tweeted.

Liverpool brought the Uruguay international to Anfield last summer after agreeing a £64 million deal with Benfica.

Bent believes Nunez is superior to Antony.

Although United supporters may argue that comparing the two is unfair because Antony is more of a natural winger, Nunez has established himself on the left under Jurgen Klopp this season.

The 23-year-old has 14 goals and four assists in 31 games for Liverpool. In comparison, the Brazilian has only eight goals and three assists in 30 games for United.

Nunez has strengthened the Reds’ attacking style in a variety of ways, in addition to scoring goals.

His remarkable pace and top physicality make opponent defenses to crumble, frequently leading to chances for players like Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah.

He is also an excellent defensive player. When the backline requires assistance, the Uruguayan can always be counted on to make a solid tackle or clear the ball.

This isn’t part of Antony’s game, implying Nunez is a better all-around player.
