On Twitter, John Aldridge stated that Liverpool should not have started Naby Keita against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League game on Saturday afternoon
The former Liverpool midfielder believes Keita is a “luxury” defensive midfielder and does not want the £130,000-a-week (SalarySport) player to start.
Wolves, who face relegation to the Championship at the end of the season, defeated Liverpool 3-0 in front of their own fans.
Keita began the game for Liverpool and played 65 minutes.
The 27-year-old Guinea international midfielder was replaced by Jordan Henderson.
Keita had a truly poor game.
While the midfielder made a number of strong forward runs early on, he failed to make any kind of impact after that and just didn’t seem to find his feet in the middle of the field.
Keita tried, but it just didn’t work out for him.
It didn’t work for the rest of his Liverpool teammates either.
While the win improves Wolves’ prospects of avoiding relegation to the Championship at the conclusion of the season, it makes Liverpool look increasingly unlikely to finish in the top four.
