Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has spoken about Trent Alexander-Arnold, describing him as a “complete player.”

Last night, the Reds defeated Leeds United 6-1 on the road.

Jurgen Klopp’s men were clinical in front of goal, and the German even called it the best performance of the season so far.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was instrumental in Liverpool’s victory, providing two assists on the night. Over the last two games, the 24-year-old appears to have rediscovered his cutting edge in the final third.

This is largely due to Klopp’s tactical change, which has seen Alexander-Arnold play as an inverted full-back.

Since being given the freedom to roam into midfield, the England star has recorded three assists in his last two appearances.

And Ibrahima Konate, who has been covering for him on the right side of the pitch, has heaped praise on him.

Trent is referred to as a “complete player” by Konate.
Konate praised Trent in an interview with The Daily Mail, but added that the full-back will not be ‘forgetting’ his defensive duties anytime soon.

“We must keep in mind that he is a complete player with many assets and abilities, both offensively and defensively,” Konate said.

“He won’t forget his defensive responsibilities just because I can’t cover him all the time – I’m only human!”

Trent appears to have regained his energy after being given more freedom to roam through the park.

His second assist against Leeds demonstrated what he is capable of when the ball is at his feet. With a pinpoint ball, the full-back completely unlocked Leeds‘ defense and set up Darwin Nunez.

Of course, his defending has come under intense scrutiny this season, and having Konate alongside him has certainly helped.
