WHAT’S THE DEAL?

The 17-year-old has been rewarded with a professional contract after excelling for Liverpool’s Under-18 team.
Laffey, a center midfielder for the Reds, has made nine Under-18 Premier League games this season, scoring two goals as Liverpool sit fourth in the table.
Earlier this season, the teenager scored in a 4-2 triumph over Manchester United’s Under-18 team before scoring a critical goal in a 2-1 win over Blackburn’s young guns.
After receiving the news, Carragher wrote: “Great prospect! Laffey, keep up the fantastic work.”
Laffey has been with Liverpool since he was a child, coming from Merseyside rivals Everton.

Liverpool stated in their official release that the Merseyside-born prodigy is a set-piece expert who frequently takes freekicks and corners for the Under-18 team.
Laffey is also claimed to have a “strong range of passing and outstanding awareness,” as well as the ability to “bind his squad together in the centre of the field, get on the ball, and impose a tempo on the game” – impressive stuff.
LIVERPOOL FANS SHOULD BE EXCITED ABOUT LAFFEY.
Based on the jewels that have emerged from Kirkby in recent decades, we see no reason why Liverpool fans shouldn’t be enthused about Laffey, especially with Jürgen Klopp in charge until at least 2026.

To mention a few, the German has oversaw the growth of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Neco Williams, Ben Doak, and Mateusz Musialowski.
Klopp also nurtured a number of gems at Borussia Dortmund, delivering a major opportunity to Christian Pulisic while also turning Mario Götze into a superstar.
Keep an eye on Laffey, as he could make his first-team debut shortly if his recent performances continue.
