The 31-year-old will also receive a fine and miss Saturday’s home match against Hoffenheim for the Bundesliga team.

Sane’s lip was bleeding, according to Sky Germany, after a fight between the two that required their fellow teammates to separate them in the locker room.

Sadio Mane, 31, will not be playing for FC Bayern against 1899 Hoffenheim at home on Saturday, according to a statement from Bayern. Mane’s inappropriate behavior following FC Bayern’s Champions League match at Manchester City is the cause. Mane will also be charged a fine.

One year after acquiring Mane from Liverpool, Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg even claimed Bayern is considering selling him this summer.

Plettenberg tweeted: “News #Mane: He has already arrived at the training center this morning before the news of his punishment broke. As he grinned.

“Bosses discussed a number of potential outcomes yesterday, including fines, suspensions, and even separation. Today at 11 a.m. is team practice. Today’s expected apology to the team is from him.

Will Mane go back to Liverpool?

Some Liverpool supporters have questioned whether the winger will rejoin the Reds given the possibility of Mane leaving.

Mane departed for Bayern last summer from Liverpool after six incredibly successful years at Anfield. His departure comes as the Reds are having their worst season under Jurgen Klopp to date, languishing in eighth place and 12 points off the top four.

Additionally, Mane’s recent remarks about his former team may indicate that he is considering making a quick trip back to Merseyside.

A month before the Sane incident, he told Bild that “Liverpool will be back.”

“I’m confident they’ll get through this. Despite their numerous injuries and difficult tests, Jurgen Klopp is unquestionably the right coach.

The players adore him, so he will lead Liverpool back up starting this season.
