Romano responded to recent links concerning top European sides actively monitoring Silva as well as Benfica colleagues Goncalo Ramos and Florentino Luis in his exclusive CaughtOffside column ‘the Daily Briefing’
There appear to be officials from large clubs always keeping tabs on Benfica’s key players, and Silva appears to be one to keep an eye on in this summer’s transfer market.
Football Transfers has connected the talented young center-back with Liverpool, while in-form striker Ramos has also been watched by Manchester United.
“About eight to ten clubs are usually present at Benfica to keep an eye on Antonio Silva, Goncalo Ramos, and Florentino Luis,” Romano explained.
“They have excellent players, so it’s completely natural. Nothing is concrete at this time, but I’d keep an eye on Silva throughout the summer in case of major ideas.”
Liverpool would be wise to sign a talent like Silva as a long-term replacement for the aging Virgil van Dijk.
According to Christian Falk’s CaughtOffside column, another excellent young defender being linked with LFC is Josko Gvardiol.

The race for the top four took another twist on Saturday when Liverpool were defeated 1-0 at Bournemouth.
Jurgen Klopp’s men appeared to be on a roll after thrashing Manchester United 7-0 the previous weekend, but they were exposed once again on the south coast.
Liverpool have struggled to find consistency this season, and they now trail Antonio Conte’s men by six points, despite having a game in hand.
Kane also said that the Reds missed points yesterday after Spurs defeated Nottingham Forest 3-1.
Kane makes a remark about Liverpool.
Kane was asked by Spurs Play if Tottenham are now in a solid position to finish in the top four this season.
“Yes, fourth is absolutely available. Certainly, with Liverpool dropping points today as well, we took advantage,” the Spurs talisman explained.
“From now until the conclusion of the season, there will be a lot of chopping and changing, so we just have to be ready and try to take our moments when they come.”
Spurs appeared to be the favorites to qualify for the Champions League, but there is still a lot of football to be played.
Conte’s men will also go to Anfield at the end of April, which may be a pivotal match in the quest for the top four.
Klopp’s men will need to find more consistency in the coming weeks, as will Spurs, but it seems like a sprint to the finish line.
Newcastle United, who have three games in hand on Spurs and are only seven points behind them, cannot be written off at this time.
