Liverpool is expected to play Crystal Palace in the Champions League
Liverpool return to Premier League action tomorrow against Crystal Palace (19.45 GMT).
After a humiliating 5-2 loss to Real Madrid earlier this week, Jürgen Klopp will be expecting a strong response from his team at Selhurst Park.
The Reds are on the verge of quitting the Champions League after losing the first leg of the last-16 tie at Anfield. It was the latest humiliating defeat in a disappointing season.
Liverpool must now fight to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League next season. They are now seventh in the table, but have 16 games remaining to make up ground.
Klopp has confessed that some of his players were injured against Real Madrid and would miss the trip to Palace.
Nonetheless, the manager may be tempted to make alterations to his starting lineup in order to achieve a result in the capital.
With that in mind, this is the Liverpool lineup we expect to face the Eagles.
1. Alisson Becker, goalkeeper
Despite making a costly error against Real Madrid, he has been one of Liverpool’s standout performances this season.
2. Trent Alexander-Arnold, RB
The England international made a strong start against Real Madrid, and he’ll benefit from not having to shackle the injured Wilfreid Zaha.
3. Joel Matip (CB)
With Gomez out against Real Madrid and Konate only recently returning from injury, Matip is poised to make a comeback.
4,Virgil van Dijk, CB
After coming under scrutiny against Real, the Dutch international must deliver a strong performance.
