As the international break comes to an end, Liverpool still has a number of injury and fitness concerns.
The Reds haven’t played in nearly two weeks, with their most recent outing being a Champions League defeat to Real Madrid. On Saturday, they return to Premier League action against Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping that some of his injured players recover in time to play at the Etihad Stadium. Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, and Thiago Alcantara are among them, while Cody Gakpo’s status remains uncertain following illness.

Darwin Nunez’s
Darwin Nunez was injured during Liverpool’s loss to Real Madrid earlier this month.
As a result, the striker was left out of Uruguay’s squad for their upcoming international matches against Japan and South Korea.
Nunez is scheduled to return to Merseyside for training later this week, after which he will be evaluated by the Liverpool medical department.
It is too early to say whether Nunez will be fit to face Man City, but Liverpool will be hoping he will be available for the trip to the Etihad.
Early April is the anticipated return date.
Juan Diaz
Luis Diaz has been out since the beginning of October with a knee injury and has yet to return to first-team training.
The Colombia international was supposed to return in December, but a setback necessitated surgery, extending his time on the sidelines.
Diaz is nearing a return to the field, and Liverpool hope to have him back in training in the days leading up to the trip to Manchester City, but a start at the Etihad would be unlikely given his lengthy absence.

Cody Gakpo’s
Due to illness, Cody Gakpo was initially withdrawn from the Netherlands squad for their Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Koeman admitted that he didn’t know if he’d be available for the match on Monday night.

Alcantara, Thiago
Thiago Alcantara has been out with a hip flexor injury since early February.
The Spaniard had yet to return to Liverpool first-team training before the international break, and it is unclear when he will be able to do so.
Being available for the trip to Manchester City appears unlikely, so Liverpool will hope to have him back later in April, when they face Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham.
The expected return date is in early/mid April.
Ramsay, Calvin
Calvin Ramsay suffered a knee injury earlier this season and will miss the rest of the season.
Ramsay has made just two first-team appearances for Liverpool since joining from Aberdeen last summer.
Liverpool will hope for a patient recovery from the right-back, with the goal of having him back in time for pre-season training in July.
Pre-season in July is the anticipated return date.
