Trent Alexander-Arnold, a Liverpool defender, looked more fired up than ever against Arsenal on Sunday
According to Chris Sutton, a BBC pundit. Sutton claimed on BBC 5 Live’s Monday Night Club that he’d never seen Trent as pumped as he was at Anfield this weekend.
“I’ve never seen Trent Alexander-Arnold so fired up and emotional,” the pundit said. “He’s gotten a lot of flak this season for his defensive play, and I’ve never seen him so fired up.”
He was rousing the crowd, and the energy spread throughout the stadium. The crowd got involved, and their message to the players was, “You have to fight.”
Liverpool fought back from two down and could easily have won the game with Trent on fire and the crowd ready to go to war. Please keep it up for the rest of the season, lad!
Trent is attempting to channel his competitive nature.
If Sutton has never seen Alexander-Arnold play with a hint of rage, he hasn’t been paying attention.
True, Liverpool’s right-back can appear sluggish at times, especially given his defensive zeal. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that the 24-year-old is fiercely competitive.
Throughout the season, his attitude and application have been called into question, and his body language hasn’t always been positive. But, for a player who has been accustomed to success up to this point in his career, can Trent look pleased?

This season has harmed him more than a number of other Liverpool players. Personally, he has been scrutinized more than any of his teammates. He couldn’t be blamed for getting a cob on.
However, turning that into something positive may be the key to rediscovering Alexander-best Arnold’s form. When the stakes are high, the right-back is often at his best. He thrives on demonstrating his superiority.
Granit Xhaka inadvertently lit the fuse when he stupidly left something on Trent near the end of the first half on Sunday. Trent was brilliant from that point forward. It was fitting that he scored the equalizer, and he would have sealed the deal had Ibrahima Konate not bundled home.

It was fitting that he equalized, and Ibrahima Konate would have topped things off had he bundled home Darwin Nunez’s knockdown from his beautiful pass.
The message to Arsenal – and Xhaka – was clear: you won’t like Trent when he’s angry. Let’s hope this is a foreshadowing of things to come between now and May 28th.
