Brendan Rodgers Not Optimistic Over Hatate Return Date

Brendan Rodgers hasnt had it convenient with his midfield options this season, with accidents and bad shape seeing a lack of consistency in the center of the park.

Last season, Hatate was a fundamental player for Celtic, forming a dynamic midfield trio with Callum McGregorand Aaron Mooy, which propelled the team closer to a treble. Matt O’Riley observed himself on the sidelines at instances as Hatate shined in the starting XI.

This season, however, has been a unique story for Hatate. He has struggled with injuries, beginning with a calf harm in August and a hamstring stress at some point of a Champions League in shape against Atletico Madrid, which sidelined him until his quick return on January 2 towards St Mirren. Participation in the Asian Cup was once hoped to rejuvenate Hatate, but a double calf damage reduce his involvement short.

When asked about Hatate’s attainable return, Rodgers provided a vague timeline, stating, “Reo is still a few weeks away. He’s building energy in his calf so he’s still a little while away.” He added uncertainly regarding Hatate’s return before the league split, “Will he be back earlier than the split?
