After Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last night, Divock Origi was highly impressed by Virgil van Dijk

Van Dijk took to Instagram after the game to celebrate his team’s promotion to the top six of the Premier League.

The Dutchman maintained his clean sheet and put Liverpool ahead in the second half.

Jurgen Klopp’s club had been the superior team throughout and should have been ahead.

Darwin Nunez’s goal was disallowed due to an apparent foul by Diogo Jota following a fantastic mazy run into the box.

Last night, Jota did provide for Liverpool, and it was Virgil van Dijk who benefited.

Trent Alexander-free Arnold’s kick found the 31-year-old in the box, but his initial header was blocked.

The rebound was pounced on by the Portuguese forward, who fired it back into the box for Van Dijk to head home.

That was his second league goal of the season, following his strike against Bournemouth in their 9-0 victory.

He’ll be glad to be back among the goals and contributing to Liverpool’s rise up the table.

Following Liverpool’s victory, Origi wowed Van Dijk.

Van Dijk shared an Instagram photo of himself celebrating his goal with no caption.

In response to his assist, Diogo Jota said, “You welcome,” while Cody Gakpo and Kostas Tsimikas praised his effort.

Using a crown emoji, Divock Origi hinted that Van Dijk was a king, praise that is usually reserved for his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.

Van Dijk has now helped Liverpool keep three clean sheets in a row after coming off the bench against Everton.

Goals haven’t been as easy to come by for Liverpool this season, and they’ve battled at times defensively.

They went four games without a win after Van Dijk left the game against Brentford with a hamstring injury.

There have been some ludicrous suggestions that the Dutchman be sold shortly.

Origi understands better than anybody how crucial Van Dijk is to Liverpool right now.

There will be no one at the club who wants him to leave for a while.
