Barcelona is attempting to raise funds to re-sign Lionel Messi and believes Fati could be a valuable member of their squad to sell.

Fati was once regarded as Barcelona’s next big thing, but he has yet to live up to his early promise.

Having said that, it is clear that the 20-year-old has a lot of potential, which is why he has been linked with Liverpool.

Ben Jacobs first reported in February that the Reds were interested in signing the ‘amazing’ attack.

Since then, talks have stalled, but the news of Fati’s availability may have piqued Liverpool’s interest.

Liverpool aren’t mentioned as a possible destination for the Spaniard in 90 Minutes’ latest report, but West Ham and Wolves appear to be the two clubs in the running for him right now.

Having said that, the opportunity to sign such a talent at the age of 20 is likely to be one that the Reds consider.

Fati’s main issue in recent years has been avoiding treatment.

The youngster simply hasn’t been able to get a run of games, which has slowed his progress.

On his day, he has a tremendous amount of talent, as evidenced by his debut in Barcelona’s first-team lineup at the age of 16.

If Fati were to join Liverpool, he would help to bolster an already talented attacking unit.

And this may be one of the issues that deters Liverpool.

With the Reds in desperate need of midfield and possibly defense reinforcements, spending a portion of their budget on another front player may not be the best use of funds.

And it’s possible that Liverpool will pass up the opportunity this summer, despite appearing to be interested in the deal a few months ago.
