According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, Liverpool are interested in signing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo

Prior to playing every minute of Ecuador’s World Cup action, the midfielder had started all 14 of Brighton’s Premier League games this season, demonstrating his importance to both club and country.
In fact, the 21-year-old has played the entire 90 minutes in 12 of those 14 games, with just two outfielders playing more minutes at Amex Stadium in 2022/23.
With the January transfer window approaching, the Ecuadorian has found himself in the heart of a two-horse race between two of the country’s major clubs.

THE LATEST: LIVERPOOL WANTS CAICEDO
Sheth recently shared the latest in the transfer race for Caicedo, whom Brighton are ‘under no pressure to sell’ despite high-profile interest.
“Chelsea & Liverpool interested in Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo,” a Sky Sports reporter tweeted. There have been no formal discussions. Brighton do not want to sell in the middle of the season and are not under any pressure to do so – the deal runs until 2025. In February 2021, he joined Brighton for £5 million under Graham Potter. #BHAFC, #CFC, and #LFC.”

THE VERDICT IS THAT HE’D BE A SMART SIGNING.
Caicedo has made more advanced passes (65) for Brighton this season than any other player at the Amex. He also has the club’s second-highest combined total of tackles and interceptions (62) demonstrating how dominant he can be both on and off the ball.
His overall league performances this season have earned him a season rating of 6.91/10 from WhoScored, earning him the Seagulls’ joint-third best rated player.

With journalist Jordan Cronin describing him as “one of the best players” who played against Newcastle United in August, it’s easy to see why Brighton have reportedly paid £85 million for their star midfielder.
Given that Liverpool have four central midfielders whose contracts are set to expire in the summer (including on-loan Arthur Melo), bringing in Caicedo would be a wise move from the club, in our opinion.
