Liverpool appears to be close to finalizing a £37 million deal to capture Cody Gakpo in the coming days
Several media agencies reported Friday night that Liverpool had almost finalized the signing of Gakpo. It happens as a number of other teams, including Man United and Arsenal, are interested in the Dutch forward
Although the acquisition of Gakpo is significant, Liverpool could not be finished there. That is, if the tales from Italy during the holiday season are to be believed
According to Calciomercato, Liverpool is also interested in signing Hirving Lozano, a winger and forward for Napoli. In fact, it says Liverpool are in the lead and at the head of the line to recruit the quick Mexican star
Lozano was signed by Napoli for almost £38 million, but his deal with the Italian team is nearing its end.
Liverpool, meanwhile, appears prepared to make a January transfer window investment to support Jurgen Klopp. The Reds have occasionally been destroyed by a shaky start to the season and several injuries. Consequently, FSG appears to be supporting Klopp with the linked names of Gakpo and Lozano
TBR’s Opinion: For Liverpool fans, Lozano is yet another intriguing name.
Hirving Lozano has been fantastic for this Napoli team and he undoubtedly possesses many of the qualities Liverpool supporters look for in their attackers.
He is, to begin with, swift and diligent. He has a possibility of succeeding with those two in that front three under Klopp.
Beyond that, though, he is a player with solid club and international experience. Lozano is a member of the Napoli team, which has been a standout in Europe this season
Certainly, Liverpool has sent a message if they were able to sign Lozano in addition to Gakpo.
