‘You heard the reaction.’ – King slams Tottenham star for ‘Antics’ in Newcastle defeat

Bryan King has slammed Tottenham midfielder James Maddison for what he did against Newcastle United on Sunday (1 September)

The former Spurs scout alleges the 27-year-old was “exaggerating” tackles and overcomplicating his ballplay.

Maddison started as Tottenham lost 2-1 to Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

And, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, King hopes to see much more from the former Leicester City player in the future.

“Spurs certainly had enough chances to win the match,” Mr. King remarked.

“There was a time in the second half when they should have knotted it up. Even a point would have been a good result, but we ended up losing.

Maddison wasn’t at his best in the final third against the Magpies, nor were the majority of his Spurs teammates.

However, the midfielder appeared to be involved in numerous off-ball situations, which resulted in him being booed off the pitch by Newcastle fans as he was substituted in the second half.

Maddison hasn’t been at his best in a long time, and Spurs fans will be hoping that the playmaker returns to form soon.

In other Tottenham news, a “expensive” accusation has emerged following the club’s signing of a new attacking player.
