While Celtic, the team with a legitimate and authentic history, is poised to make history, Jackson rambles on about the Ibrox club’s past.

Given today’s coverage, one may assume that there is only one important game taking place in Europe this week. Also, there is just one team competing in Europe this week. Coverage of the Ibrox team’s travel to Manchester has been nonstop for the past few days.

The 2008 Ibrox supporters’ visit to the city was dubbed “The worst night of violence since the Blitz.” Manchester is undoubtedly preparing for another visit from those amazing supporters. With Storm Eowyn on the horizon, they most likely have fewer concerns.

But I’m getting a little off topic. As I mentioned before, you would never think Celtic would be on the verge of creating their own history in the top competition in Europe tonight.

Additionally, they all appear to believe that the Ibrox team can upset Old Trafford. For the simple reason that Ruben Amorim said he believed this United team could be the worst in history.

The most embarrassing of all the recent media coverage of this match, however, is Keith Jackson’s sycophantic trip down memory lane in the Record today. Jackson is, after all, the King of Cringe, and he goes all out today, conveniently omitting that one of the clubs involved tomorrow night has a history spanning no more than 13 years and that the one he discusses pre-2012 is dead. It doesn’t take long for him to attempt to hold both clubs in the same esteem, which is, as we all know, completely and utter bullshit.
