As the Reds look for midfielders, Moises Caicedo of Brighton & Hove Albion is said to have told friends he wants to “join Liverpool.”
Moises Caicedo, a Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder, reportedly “told friends” that he wants to sign with Liverpool.
After being linked with a transfer in the summer, the Ecuadorian international has emerged as a Reds transfer target, and Liverpool are apparently looking to rekindle their interest.
Caicedo is the right midfielder for Jurgen Klopp’s demands because Liverpool has struggled in the Premier League thus far this season and requires more than just one.
Although former manager Graham Potter is rumored to want to send Caicedo to Chelsea, Brighton has made it clear that they have no plans to move their star midfielder this month.
Despite Chelsea’s interest, Football Insider reports that the 21-year-old has told people closest to him that he is “absolutely interested” in joining Liverpool.
In his Friday interview with writer Ben Jacobs, Brighton CEO Paul Barber addressed Liverpool’s pursuit of Caicedo directly, saying, “I’m glad to say we haven’t had any [offers], maybe they [Liverpool] haven’t gotten my email.”
