Rangers won 1-0 against Hearts in the SPFL on Sunday, November 10 at Ibrox.
Cyriel Dessers scored early in the first half, and it was the game’s only goal.
Despite a few nervous moments, Gers held on to their lead and earned three points.
Here are our player ratings for the game:
Jack Butland – 6
John Souttar’s blushes were spared thanks to his superb first-half reflexes. Aside from that, he didn’t have much to do and was able to keep his sheet clean, which is something he would have preferred heading into the game. He took control of his penalty area and did not give anything away.
James Tavernier – 4
His shot-turned-assist helped Dessers open the scoring, but it will be counted as an assist, giving him a major boost in confidence. However, he provided little to no defense. He repeatedly failed to track his runner, making him a defensive liability.
John Souttar – 6
Souttar made a major mistake in the first half, which is unacceptable at this level. I was fortunate to watch Butland help him out. However, he passed with an accuracy of more than 90% and won both of his ground duels, according to Sofascore.
Leon Balogun – 6
He contributed to keeping a clean sheet by making numerous clearances throughout the contest. He appeared more at ease in possession than usual, justifying his inclusion ahead of Robin Propper in the starting eleven.
Jefte – 7
Was by far the best of the Gers’ defenders, and was one of the few players on the team who actually performed well. Bombed up and down the pitch throughout the game and did not appear to tire. Clement will be impressed with his performance, which appeared to be settled both in and out of possession.
Connor Barron – 8
He had another tremendous game, working tirelessly up and down the field. The fact that the home crowd was upset with his withdrawal in the 66th minute speaks much about his impact on the game.
Nicolas Raskin – 8
Raskin, like Barron, delivered an outstanding effort at the heart of the Gers’ midfield. He was the first to most duels and established himself in the center of the park for the hosts. He did his utmost to stymie the opposing midfielders and deserves his flowers at full time.
Vaclav Cerny – 5
Struggled in the last third against Hearts and had difficulty finding the deadly pass on several occasions. His decision-making seemed questionable, and he didn’t appear to be confident.
Mohammed Diomande – 6
He was in a dangerous situation at times, but he didn’t take advantage of it. His final output was lacking, but he’ll be encouraged that he’s improving in an advanced role, and he hopes to make this his own soon.
Nedim Bajrami – 6
He had brief moments of impact but then went lost for the remainder of the game, which must be aggravating. When he was in the number 10 position, he looked his most dangerous, but he can’t keep having these hot and cold games for Rangers.
Cyriel Dessers – 6
Found the back of the net early on, but went silent as the game progressed, much to the chagrin of the home crowd. He continued to deteriorate, and it was surprising that he managed to play 78 minutes before being replaced by Danilo.
Substitutes
Dujon Sterling – 6
Neraysho Kasanwirjo – 6
Danilo – 5
Kieran Dowell – 5.
Ross McCausland – 6
