Liverpool’s 7-0 thrashing of their archrivals, which had not been seen since before World War II, will not be forgotten easily
Despite Gary Neville’s gloating in the buildup, Bruno Fernandes and co. didn’t appear to be especially excited about the challenge ahead as they made their way out onto the pitch for a warmup.
This result, hopefully, will serve as a springboard for the Reds to fight their way back into the top four, as well as a cataclysmic occurrence that will send Manchester United falling in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile, the Times reported earlier this week that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were among many clubs interested in 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos.
However, it appears that Santos has opted to play for Premier League foe Chelsea rather than the Reds.
Chelsea to Santos?
According to transfer guru Romano, Santos has chosen Chelsea over Manchester City, Newcastle, and Liverpool for a fee of £17.6 million.
“Chelsea have full verbal agreement in place to recruit Brazilian talent Andrey Santos, confirmed — final amount around €20m, personal terms agreed too,” the journalist tweeted.
“Chelsea and Vasco will now prepare documentation. Andrey, who was born in 2004, will be a part of Chelsea’s skills initiative. “All right, here we go.”
Chelsea’s transfer strategy has shifted dramatically since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took possession in May, with the club focusing on promising young players.
And Santos sure seems promise. As a ball-winning central midfielder, he has prospered this season.
Last year, the youth came into the Vasco da Gama first team and has since made an impression. Santos appeared in 36 games this season, scoring eight goals and earning four caps for Brazil’s Under-20s.
