Shelton Henderson, a future forward for Duke basketball, is now demonstrating his competitive attitude in Texas’ postseason.
The early 2025 Duke signee, who averages over 20 points, seven rebounds, and two steals per game, has led his Bellaire High School (Texas) Cardinals to a 24-10 record this season. They are currently training for the Texas 6A Regional Finals.
Henderson, who is 6-foot-6 and weighs 225 pounds, scored 25 points in Tuesday night’s 75-66 semifinal triumph over the Summer Creek High School Bulldogs. Henderson and the Cardinals will face the Seven Lakes High School Spartans (33-5) on Friday.
Henderson is a five-star recruit, ranked No. 24 overall, No. 4 among small forwards, and No. 2 in Texas according to the 247Sports 2025 Composite. Duke head coach Jon Scheyer praised
Henderson’s potential after signing him and three other highly ranked recruits in November. “He has all the qualities of a top-level player for Duke,” Scheyer said. “His athleticism, defensive versatility, and competitiveness are exactly what we look for. His potential is just beginning, and I’m excited to coach him.”
