Tottenham’s expected starting XI against Aston Villa features four changes and 28-year-old returns.

Tottenham will play Aston Villa in a mouth-watering Premier League match at home on Sunday afternoon

Ange Postecoglou’s side will be full of confidence after overcoming Manchester City 2-1 in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

While they have been quite impressive in cup games, they still need to improve their league performance.

Spurs’ latest league game ended in a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, and they need to win again.

Postecoglou has stated that Micky van Veden will miss the game. He left the field in tears after suffering a hamstring injury versus City in midweek and will not return until the international break.

Spurs will make some alterations to their team, with skipper Son Heung-Min likely to return following an injury layoff.

Guglielmo Vicario will remain in goal, but he should expect a difficult afternoon. Archie Gray handed up possession 15 times versus City, and while no one doubts his immense talent, he is definitely not ready to start games on a weekly basis.

He should give way to Pedro Porro at right back. Radu Dragusin will remain in the starting lineup, but Destiny Udogie will replace the injured Dutchman at left back.

Dragusin performed admirably against City on Wednesday night, and he is likely to play alongside the ever-present Cristian Romero.

Werner made a significant impact in midweek, and Postecoglou is expected to deploy him at some stage during the game. As a result, Spurs are expected to make four changes to their midweek lineup.

Tottenham’s predicted lineup (4-2-3-1) is Vicario; Porro, Dragusin, Romero, Udogie; Bissouma, Sarr; Kulusevski, Johnson, Son; and Solanke.
