Tottenham’s Carabao Cup match against Manchester City has been scheduled for an odd kickoff time of 8:15pm
The fourth round battle will be held on Wednesday, October 30, following the other five ties on the same night.
The kick-off hour may be unusual, but it is most likely due to the fixture being one of six selected for television coverage on Sky Sports that night.
It’s a rematch of the 2020/21 Carabao Cup final, in which Aymeric Laporte earned City a 1-0 victory at Wembley.
The teams last played in January of this year, when Nathan Ake earned a win for Manchester City in the FA Cup fourth round.
Tottenham advanced to the fourth round of this season’s Carabao Cup after defeating Coventry City 2-1 earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola’s team defeated Watford 2-1 at home, securing their place in the tie.
Ange Postecoglou is desperate to win a trophy after claiming that he ‘usually wins something in his second year’ during a heated TV interview.
The Australian later clarified his statements, saying, “It’s fantastic, isn’t it? I simply mentioned a fact, and it appears that I should either lie or swear it never happened.
“But, no, it confuses me that people are making such a big deal about things. I’m not sure how I should respond to something that is true.
“Like if I don’t win it in the second year this year and I come out next year and say ‘well, I always win it’, well, no, actually it’s not true, but I’ve just said something that’s true, and it seems like it’s upset a lot of people for some reason.”
Along with the match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Brighton’s match against Liverpool has been scheduled to air on Sky Sports at 7.30pm.
Meanwhile, Man United versus Leicester, Preston vs Arsenal, Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace, and AFC Wimbledon or Newcastle vs Chelsea have all been scheduled for a 7.45pm kickoff.
These games will follow the two fourth-round clashes set for Tuesday evening.
Southampton will host Stoke City on Tuesday, October 29th, while Brentford will face Sheffield Wednesday.
