Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: James Maddison
According to The Guardian, Maddison will have a physical before his £40 million move to Tottenham is finalized.

According to the source, the England international has already committed to a long-term deal with the north Londoners, allowing Postecoglou to establish a more offensive style of play.

Tottenham are said to be close to acquiring Maddison after talks with Leicester proceeded on Tuesday night.

The news comes after transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano recently told GIVEMESPORT that Postecoglou’s #1 priority was the dynamic midfielder.

Despite opposition from Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Arsenal, Tottenham look to have won the fight for Maddison’s signature.

What did Michael Bridge have to say about Maddison?
Bridge knows that Maddison is just hours away from completing a contract to become a Tottenham player.

The Sky Sports reporter also feels that beating out Premier League competitors for the Leicester man’s signing will improve Postecoglou‘s confidence.

Bridge told GIVEMESPORT on Wednesday, “I think it’s going to be done tonight.” It’s a really fantastic signing, and I’m confident Ange Postecoglou will integrate him right away.”It’s also a lift for Postecoglou because it says, “I’m a very good England international, and I want to play for you.”

“I think it’s a really, really good transfer for Tottenham.”

Will Maddison be a beneficial addition to Tottenham’s squad?
Maddison may not have kept Leicester in the Premier League, but according to Sofascore statistics, he averaged a goal every 248 minutes and played 2.3 important passes each game last season.

In fact, the 26-year-old scored 10 goals in all competitions, while also providing nine assists, highlighting his ability in the last third of the field.

WhoScored gave Maddison an average match rating of 7.24 for his Premier League performances, a level that no other Leicester teammate matched.

With that in mind, making a bid for the £110,000-per-week superstar was a no-brainer for Tottenham.
Maddison has scored 77 goals in 163 Premier League games and may be a game-changer for Postecoglou as he attempts to make his imprint at Spurs.
