Real Betis are closing in on the signing of Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Davinson Sanchez, 27
According to Tuttomercatoweb, La Liga heavyweights Real Betis are interested in signing Davinson Sanchez ahead of next season. The future of the 27-year-old defender has been uncertain for some time, but he appears to be on his way to Spain.
Sanchez joined Tottenham Hotspur from Ajax in a big-money move in the summer of 2017. Spurs paid a fee of €42 million to sign the Colombian international.
During his stint at the club, he grew from strength to strength, appearing in 205 matches for the London club. The 27-year-old has done well throughout the years. But he hasn’t been at his best recently, and Sanchez has never reached the heights that were anticipated of him.
Last season, he played little over 1,200 minutes in 24 outings. The former Ajax defender sat on the bench for the bulk of the game. As a result, he is prepared to depart next season in quest of more first-team minutes.
The Colombian international is ready to leave Tottenham Hotspur almost six years after joining the London club. His contract will expire in the summer of 2024. And, with only a year left on his contract, moving him makes more sense than losing him for free next summer. Meanwhile, Spurs are on the lookout for defensive reinforcement, with Gleison Bremer being linked.
While clubs from all across Europe have expressed an interest in signing him, Real Betis are the frontrunners. The Spanish club wants him to join their ranks as they strive to enhance their roster. Manuel Pellegrini, their manager, believes the 27-year-old still has a lot to contribute and can help them take the next step.

Betis are on the verge of an agreement with Tottenham. The negotiations are nearing completion, and a final decision is likely within a week. Betis is set to offer the Colombian international a two-year contract worth €2 million.
Spurs are expected to collect a fee of roughly €7 million from the transfer, which does not make fans happy given that they paid €42 million on him. However, with his contract expiring, they are limited in their options.
Tottenham: The team has learned more about Lautaro Martinez’s transfer.
The Inter Milan striker might take the position of Harry Kane
After learning of Inter Milan’s interest, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed whether Tottenham Hotspur would be able to replace Harry Kane with Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
Is a striker being added by Tottenham?
Following Harry Kane’s sale to Bayern Munich, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is rumored to be scouring the transfer market, with Gift Orban of Gent and Romelu Lukaku of Chelsea among his main targets.
The Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson was also the focus of a Spurs investigation, but Paul Barber, the club’s CEO, has now said that there is no chance of his leaving this summer, saying: “In Evan’s case, it’ll be in at least five years’ time!”
After researching their top targets, the Lilywhites are ready to act swiftly; Richarlison is not viewed as a “long-term” solution to lead the line, and Jacobs has now offered a synopsis of their potential options.
According to the author, Lukaku may no longer be Tottenham’s primary objective.
The most likely target if Kane left Spurs before Fabio Paratici left was Jonathan David of Lille. One still can’t completely rule out a plan. Although Inter is unwilling to trade, Spurs are also interested in Lautaro Martinez.
There was never any substance to a transaction including Kylian Mbappe before to Harry Kane’stransfer to Bayern. Kane was considered by PSG, but they were aware that he preferred Bayern.
How many goals has Lautaro Martinez scored?
Given his outstanding accomplishments for the Italian team in Serie A and the Champions League as well as his reliable scoring for Argentina, he would be a fantastic addition for Tottenham if Inter decides to change their approach and listen to offers for their striker.
The £184k-per-week forward is in the 83rd percentile for assists per 90 over the past year when compared to players in his position, and he isn’t afraid to chip in on defense, rating in the 98th percentile for interceptions.
Martinez may be a top signing for Tottenham and has been dubbed “absolutely incredible” by media members, but given that he is under contract until the summer of 2026, it does not seem probable that he will depart this summer, unless he actively pursues a transfer.
Prior to the transfer window closing, Postecogloumust find a replacement for Kane, so pursuing a player who is not likely to be available is meaningless and he should move on to other targets.
Jonathan David, a Canadian who scored 24 goals in 37 Ligue 1 games for Lille last season, may still be of interest to Tottenham, according to Jacobs.
