After learning of Inter Milan’s interest, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed whether Tottenham Hotspur would be able to replace Harry Kane with Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

Is a striker being added by Tottenham?
Following Harry Kane’s sale to Bayern Munich, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou is rumored to be scouring the transfer market, with Gift Orban of Gent and Romelu Lukaku of Chelsea among his main targets.

The Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson was also the focus of a Spurs investigation, but Paul Barber, the club’s CEO, has now said that there is no chance of his leaving this summer, saying: “In Evan’s case, it’ll be in at least five years’ time!”

After researching their top targets, the Lilywhites are ready to act swiftly; Richarlison is not viewed as a “long-term” solution to lead the line, and Jacobs has now offered a synopsis of their potential options.

According to the author, Lukaku may no longer be Tottenham’s primary objective.

Spurs must now find a successor for Kane. Romelu Lukaku is not the subject of the investigation.

The most likely target if Kane left Spurs before Fabio Paratici left was Jonathan David of Lille. One still can’t completely rule out a plan. Although Inter is unwilling to trade, Spurs are also interested in Lautaro Martinez.

There was never any substance to a transaction including Kylian Mbappe before to Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern. Kane was considered by PSG, but they were aware that he preferred Bayern.

How many goals has Lautaro Martinez scored?
Given his outstanding accomplishments for the Italian team in Serie A and the Champions League as well as his reliable scoring for Argentina, he would be a fantastic addition for Tottenham if Inter decides to change their approach and listen to offers for their striker.

The £184k-per-week forward is in the 83rd percentile for assists per 90 over the past year when compared to players in his position, and he isn’t afraid to chip in on defense, rating in the 98th percentile for interceptions.

Martinez may be a top signing for Tottenham and has been dubbed “absolutely incredible” by media members, but given that he is under contract until the summer of 2026, it does not seem probable that he will depart this summer, unless he actively pursues a transfer.

Prior to the transfer window closing, Postecoglou must find a replacement for Kane, so pursuing a player who is not likely to be available is meaningless and he should move on to other targets.

Jonathan David, a Canadian who scored 24 goals in 37 Ligue 1 games for Lille last season, may still be of interest to Tottenham, according to Jacobs.
