Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly aiming to sign a former Arsenal target this summer, although they will face heavy competition from other Premier League clubs.

Tottenham are apparently preparing to fight with another Premier League team for the transfer of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon, who was previously sought by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta during his early tenure. Solomon spent last season on loan at Fulham and is now available on a free transfer since his contract with Shakhtar was suspended owing to a FIFA judgment that permits international players to leave the club permanently due to the conflict in Ukraine.

Fulham are rumoured to be interested in signing Solomon on a permanent basis, but it appears that Spurs may try to beat the Cottagers to his signature. According to the Evening Standard, the north Londoners are interested in hijacking the transfer, with Ange Postecoglou looking for more reinforcements after signing James Maddison from Leicester City earlier this week.

Solomon‘s efforts for Fulham last season drew a lot of attention, with the 23-year-old netting five goals across all competitions. He scored in five consecutive games in February and March, and he also became a regular member of the squad during the Premier League run-in after impressing Marco Silva.

He was, of course, sought by Arsenal in 2021 when Israeli super-agent Pini Zahavi contacted Gunners director Edu to explore a transfer. The Gunners were also contacted about a prospective transfer for Solomon a year ago, but they missed out last summer as Fulham rushed quickly to sign him on loan.
